Definition

An interest calculation method is assigned uniquely in the conditions to each transaction in the SAP datapool. For evaluations in gap analysis and in ALM simulation, for reasons of comparability, it is essential that the interest calculation methods of all transactions are adjusted to a standard interest calculation method. The conversion of the product interest rate for a transaction based on an individual interest calculation method to a product interest rate using the interest calculation method specified here, takes place in accordance with the following rule:

Interest (ind) X Days (ind) / Basis (ind) = Interest (standard) X Days (standard) / Basis (standard)

If you do not make an entry in the field Interest Calculation Method, no adjustment to a standard interest calculation method takes place. However, in the interest result evaluation, interest calculation method 360/360 is used (default setting).

Example

Time period: March 2000

Product interest before adjustment: 2%

Interest calculation method of single transaction: 30/360

Interest calculation method of evaluation type: act/actY

Interest after adjustment: 2% X 30 / 360 X 366 / 31 = 1.9677419%
