Definition

The external transaction number provides a reference from the transaction in IS-B to the transaction in the front-end system, where it is managed. When a transaction is transferred to IS-B, a prerequisite for taking account of subsequent changes in the front office is that the transaction can be identified within IS-B. To ensure that this is the case, you need to make sure that the reference number is unique.

Note that when transferring accounts, you also have to transfer a transaction assigned to the account.
