Documentation
Definition
The basis portfolio is the smallest reportable unit in Risk Management. The basis portfolios are generated according to the values of the characteristics of the views by means of the cross product. Based on the combination of the characteristic values, the single transactions are summarized in the basis portfolios.
There are three different ways to summarize transactions in base portfolios:
- Aggregated cash flows
- Account balances
- Securities
There are also fincancial transactions (such as derivate transactions, floaters and so on) that cannot be summarized. These transactions are managed as single transactions in the base portfolio.
