Definition
Price of position flow: exchange rate
Note
The price paid or received is stored for each flow (purchase, sale, transfer posting) affecting a position.
The price is made up of different information depending on the type of position, such as:
- for stocks: amount in currency per unit (such as 100 SFR per unit)
- for currency positions: exchange rate (such as 1.70000 DM/USD)
- for bonds and debentures: percentage price per unit (such as 102.75% per unit) for commodities: amount in currency per quantity unit (such as 60 GBP per gram of gold).
Use
The system uses the price of the flow to determine floating average prices and then to calculate realized price gains and losses, for example.
