Definition
You can use a differentiation type to classify the data for the BDT in a more detailed way.
The differentiation type is designed to enable you to differentiate both according to units (branches) and according to dynamically determinable values.
The differentiation type can be used to:
- Differentiate roles
- Differentiate attributes
- Differentiate relationships:

You can make the following settings for a role here:
- The usage type for the differentiation type field
- Activate the authorization check
- Default settings for the differentiation type
- Postprocessing for the differentiation type
Note
Depending on the settings in the table TP23S, the F4 Help for the differentiation type allows you to display or select differentiation types from the Customizing table TP23 or differentiation types already created for a business partner.
You must enter the business partner number.
