Definition

Date from which the version of a generic transaction is valid.

Use

It is not always necessary or useful to enter a version date.

If you do not work with version management, you do not need to enter a version date.

If you work with version management, you have the following options:

  • Create
    • Do not enter a version date. The system then automatically uses today's date as the version date.
    • Alternatively, enter a version date.
  • Display and Copy Generic Transaction
    • Enter a version date. The version date does not have to be exact. The system uses the date to select the version you are looking for and then sets the date to the actual version date of the generic transaction.
  • Change
    • Do not enter a version date, as you can change the current version only. When you work in change mode, the system always uses the date of the current version automatically.
