Definition

Income from writing back provisions results if you are able to reduce the risk provisioning after the write-off date due to collateral or the changed financial circumstances of the borrower. The income is managed as an item in the profit and loss statement.

Use

To determine the risk result, the actual provision costs are compared with the standard provision costs for default risks assigned to the single transactions. The actual provision costs comprise bad debt provisions and direct write-offs minus revenue items such as income from written-off receivables and written-back provisions.
