Definition
The NPV of the net interest margin for a transaction is the value of the NIM contributions related to the market interest date.
When an old cash flow is replaced due to activity changes, the system calculates not only the new NPV-NIM but also the NPV of the old residual cash flow valued with the new zero bond discounting factors. You can compare the old residual NPV with the new NPV provided the activity change is not a rollover.
Use
The NPV margin can be calculated for transactions with fixed cash flows.
