Definition

The opportunity volume is required in single position costing in order to determine opportunity cost and income within the trading terms contribution calculation.

The opportunity volume is calculated differently depending on the procedure group specified in the costing rule:

  • With procedure group 'bonds and debentures', calculation rule 'nominal' * 'floating average rate'
  • With procedure group 'stocks', calculation rule 'no.of units' * 'floating average rate'
  • With procedure group 'option', calculation rule 'no.of contracts' * 'contract value' * 'floating average rate'
  • With procedure group 'future I', calculation rule 'accumulated difference margin' + 'initial margin'
  • With procedure group 'future II', calculation rule 'accumulated difference margin' + 'initial margin'
  • With procedure group 'currency position', calculation rule 'position' * 'floating average rate'
  • With procedure group 'foreign notes and coins', calculation rule 'position' * 'floating average exchange rate'
  • With procedure group 'commodity', calculation rule 'position' * 'floating average rate'.
