Definition

The float results when postings within the payment transactions have different value dates i.e. the value date of incoming or outgoing payments for the bank is different to the credit or debit postings for the customer. The payment amount is available to the bank interest-free on the intervening days.

Use

The float is included as an imputed revenue component in the periodic contribution margin scheme of a single transaction. This value is determined by the user.
