Definition
Accrued premium/discount for fixed-interest securities.
Use
When the trading contribution for fixed-interest securities is calculated, the price gains and losses from the market valuation are taken into account, in addition to the pro rata interest income for the reporting period. The liquidation of premium or discount amounts from sales above or below par is part of the net interest income and is reflected in the price development. When displaying the price gains and losses, the effects of this liquidation are shown separately from the actual trading income.
The accrued amount is calculated by subtracting the pro rata nominal interest from the pro rata effective interest for the position. The calculation is carried out when there is a position change as well as on the costing key date for the period since the last calculation.
