Definition

The residual margin for regular withdrawal represents the NPV of the net interest margin for a bank transaction which still requires distributing to periods.

Use

The economic objective is to determine the residual, not yet distributed margin. The future interest terms contributions of the subsequent reporting periods are totaled. The periodic residual margin reflects the total interest terms contributions for all intervals between two payment dates which fall after the costing key date together with the interest terms contribution valid for the period between the costing key date and the next payment date.
