Definition
The present value of a residual cash flow represents the sum of the discounted flows which have a date after the costing key date.
Use
In IS-B, the present value of the residual cash flow is calculated using zerobond discounting factors.
The present value of the residual cash flow for the total bank on the costing key date is calculated in order to determine the transformation result and stored in the system per bank.
Note
The transformation contribution represents the income gained from the various asset and liability yield curves. In IS-B the transformation contribution is not displayed per individual transaction.
The transformation contribution can alternatively be calculated and displayed via a formula within reporting based on the difference between the asset and liability opportunity contributions. This corresponds to the market interest rate method traditionally used in Germany.
