Definition

The programs/database tables for the installed base are also used by other applications (for example, by variant configuration). In these cases, the data is entered and maintained on one of the application interfaces. The business logic and integration is then programmed in the application.

The parameter Installed Base Maintenance defines whether an installed base shoud be handled using the Installed Base Management transactions. There are the following possible values:

• No Entry = You can create, change and display the installed base
• A = You can display but not change the installed base
• B = You cannot display or change the installed base
