Definition

The grouping mechanism for personnel assignments can only determine how the personnel assignment should be grouped for periods in which a personnel assignment exists.

Since it is possible for the valid from date of data to be before the personnel assignment start date, the system must find another way to determine how the data should be grouped.

There are two possible settings to do so:

• Group 'as of personnel assignment start date': the system groups data for the validity period of the personnel assignment(s) only.
• Group 'before personnel assignment start date': the system also groups data if the validity of the data starts before the validity of the personnel assignment. In this case, the system evaluates the grouping at the personnel assignment start date.
