Definition

Calculating net present values and their related key figures (NPVs, clean price, and basis point value) is very time-consuming. These key figures are therefore buffered in table FTI_MARKET_VALST. You can use the parameter that controls the risk management (NPV) buffer to choose on the selection screen whether:

  • 0 risk management data should be recalculated.
  • 1 risk management data should be read from the buffer.
  • 3 risk management data should be read from the limit from the buffer.

Data is not read from the buffer for the value 0 and all market data is recalculated. This can increase the term. The buffer is always accessed for the value 1. If no values are buffered for a position, they are recalculated. For the value 3, the buffer is accessed only when the number of positions exceeds the limit defined in table FTI_PARAMETERS under MAXMV.
