Definition
For each InfoSource (relevant for position initialization) you can define by which date the position initialization is to take place. The default value is 12/31/1999.
Use
The system generates the initial position at this date. This date is not the date on which the initial position is generated.
Dependencies
Subsequent delta uploads into BW will not change this initial position, meaning that after the initialization the system no longer considers value dates in the past before the date of the position initialization. Choose a date for the position initialization that is far enough in the past, that the value dates in the past in the time preceding it are already excluded.
If you want to supply the different data targets in BW with different position initialization dates, create different InfoSources in BW. You can then assign a different date to each InfoSource in the OLTP.
Example
Example: You generate the initial position at 12/31/1999 on 02/15/2003. If a change is made to the position after 02/15/2003 with a business date (such as a position value date, due date, or posting date) before 12/31/1999, this is no longer replicated in BW as it would disrupt the position.
