Definition
A valuation system is the collection of depiction and valuation rules for an accounting community, as well as the data contained in the accounting community (line items, totals) that have been created on the basis of these rules.
Several valuation systems can be created for one accounting community.
Examples:
- Legal valuation for the group
- Managenement view for the group
- German Commercial Code valuation for German companies
- Local GAAP valuation for French subsidiaries
Note:
- The valuation system bundles all Customizing settings - that is, the values for all variable parameters - in the valuation and depiction functions (Customizing aspect).
Various things are defined for a valuation system, for example the balancing entities. These define which reconciliation currencies are to be used for conversion, which rules are to be followed for currency conversion and so on. - The logical system is a logical separator for the Accounting Engine documents and for the aggregated data in the views (data aspect).
The valuation system can be used to access a consistent representation of business transactions, that has been generated according to logical and rules
