Documentation
Definition
If you select this indicator, the system interprets the oldest available receipt record as the base receipt record and uses its price to valuate the missing receipt quantity ("base value"). This setting becomes effective when the system searches for an alternative value in error-tolerant FIFO valuation. The time sequence of the intermediate layer "valuated receipts" is defined by the posting date. If there is more than one oldest receipt, an average value is calculated from them.
Use
Error-tolerant FIFO valuation provides different options that allow you to define how you want the system to react when the cumulative receipt quantity is less than the inventory quantity to be valuated. Parameters enable you to define the tolerance zone in which the system calculates a new FIFO price from an alternative value. In addition to a base receipt record, it is also possible to access the material price based on the price control and the last calculated FIFO price. If you select more than one alternative option, the system calculates an average price.

Example
You have configured that you want the system to accept the FIFO price if the cumulative receipt quantity is at least 80% of the inventory to be valuated. If the cumulative receipt quantity is more than 50% of the inventory to be valuated, the system searches for an alternative value. You have specified that the base value should always be used.
- Inventory quantity to be valuated: 150 pc
- Cumulative receipt quantity: 90 pc
- Receipts:
No.1 - 30 pc / USD 60 = USD 2.00/pc
No.2 - 40 pc / USD 100 = USD 2.50/pc
No.3 - 20 pc / USD 55 = USD 2.75/pc
In this example the cumulative receipt quantity is 60% of the inventory, so the system searches for an alternative value and uses receipt No. 1 as the base. The inventory quantity of 150 is valuated as follows: USD 55 + USD 100 + USD 90*2 = USD 335.
The new FIFO price would be 335/150 = USD 2.23.
