Definition
A master data template category requires mandatory attributes in order to execute its master data templates. You generally have set the following values of these attributes as evaluation categories:
- Constant
- Parameter
- Virtual
In the case of non-mandatory attributes, the evaluation category do not change is generally sufficient.
Example
The master data template category INSTALLATION contains the non-historical field of the utility installation as attributes. The attribute division is manadatory, whereas the others, such as installation type are not. The Create installation functins in the same way, namely that you must always specify an division, whereas an installation type is optional.
The master data template category INSTALLATION is used in the autonomous master data template category NEWCUST (initial data creation). One of the tasks performed by master data templates of this category is the creation of new installations. If you create a master data template for the master data template category NEWCUST then you cannot apply the evaluation category do not change to the mandatory attribute division.
The master data template category INSTALLATION is also used in the master data template category RATECHANGE. Master data templates that belong to this master data template category only change existing installations.These master data template categories allow you to apply the evaluation category do not change to the mandatory attribute division. Note the similarity to the function Change installation. This prevents you from changing the division.
The MEDIAPRODUCTMASTER master data template category contains the fields of the basic data of the media product master as attributes. The material type and industry fields are mandatory. This corresponds to the checks performed on the functions when a media product master is created. A media product master cannot be created if you do not specify the material type and industry.
