Use
The cardinality defines how often a lower-level master data template category can be used in the hierarchy of another master data template category.
Example
The lower-level master data template category BP_ADDRESS (business partner address data) is in the hierarchy of the master data template category BPARTNER (business partner). The cardinality of the lower level master data template category can be either do not contain, or contain as often as required.
If you create a master data template that contains the template BPARTNER, you have the following options:
- Deactivate the node of the lower-level master data template category BP_ADDRESS.
This prevents you from maintaining the attributes of the business partner's address. When you execute the master data template, the system creates a business partner without an address.
- Activate the node of the lower-level master data template category BP_ADDRESS.
This enables you to maintain the attributes of the business partner's address. When you execute the master data template, the system creates a business partner with an address.
- You can replicate the node of the lower-level master data template category BP_ADDRESS, more than once if necessary.
You can then maintain the attributes of the address for each lower-level node. When you execute the master data template, the system creates a business partner with several addresses.
