Definition

The profit/loss amount is the total of all flows that are relevant to the profit/loss within the period between 'Date from' and 'Date to'.

Since the currency of a flow affecting the profit/loss usually differs from the position/transaction currency, a separate currency reference has been introduced, namely the Profit/loss currency.

This key figure is valid across the whole of Treasury and is the sum of the following key figures:

TR functional area    Key figure

Money market    Profit/loss amount

Foreign exchange    Profit/loss amount

Securities    Profit/loss amount

Derivatives (OTC interest)    Profit/loss amount

Derivatives (listed trans.)    Profit/loss amount

Loans    Profit/loss amount

The profit/loss amounts for all flows that are indicated as relevant to the profit/loss in Customizing for flow types is calculated in the money market, foreign exchange and derivatives areas.

The profit/loss amounts are usually determined in the same way in the securities and loans areas. In some cases, however, they are calculated individually.
