Definition

Project element types for which the system does not propose the object link type when you create an object link.

The following types of project elements are possible:

Project Element Type    Meaning

DPO    Project definition

DPT    Project template

CTO    Checklist

CPT    Checklist template

PPO    Phase

PPT    Phase in template

TTO    Task

TTT    Task in template

ITO    Checklist item

ITT    Checkliste item in template

VPO    Control plan version

VPT    Control plan version in template

MTG    Role

MTT    Role in template

If object links already exist for a project element and the relevant project element type was restricted for the corresponding object link type in the meantime, these links are still fully displayed with all their functions and can also be deleted. However, you cannot create any new links with this object link type for project elements of this project element type

If no restrictions exist for an object link type, all project element types permit the creation of a corresponding object link.

Example

Example 1

You want to allow the customer-specific object link type Z_ABC to be used in the entire operational project but not in the template and specify the following restrictions:

Object Type        Project Element Type

Z_ABC        DPT

Z_ABC        CPT

Z_ABC        PPT

Z_ABC        TTT

Z_ABC        ITT

Z_ABC        VPT

Example 2

You want to allow the customer-specific object link type Z_XYZ to be used in the operational project definition and the project template only and specify the following restrictions:

Object Type        Project Element Type

Z_XYZ        CTO

Z_XYZ        CPT

Z_XYZ        PPO

Z_XYZ        PPT

Z_XYZ        TTO

Z_XYZ        TTT

Z_XYZ        ITO

Z_XYZ        ITT

Z_XYZ        VPO

Z_XYZ        VPT

Note

You can copy the SAP object link type supplied with the standard system to the customer-specific namespace and restrict project element types there or use restrictions from the standard system.

If you copy an SAP object link type from the sample implementation by means of Customizing, the system does not copy the scattered, dependent Customizing entries (such as evaluations). Instead, use the report RCOPY_SAP_OBJECT_TYPE to copy an object link type in the SAP namespace to an object link type in the non-SAP namespace in a single step. Note that the source object link type is not locked during the copying process.
