Definition

Specifies whether the group for the object link is active. The system only displays active object link types of active groups for selection in the application when you create new object links. This means that when you create an object link you can use all active object link types that are either not assigned to any group or are assigned to an active group.

Use

Select the indicator to allow object links to be created for object link types that are assigned to this group.

Dependencies

Example

Obj.Link Type    Active    Group    Can Be Used?

Object type 1    No    None    No

Object type 2    Yes    None    Yes

Object type 3    No    Grp 1    No

Object type 4    Yes    Grp 1    No

Object type 5    No    Grp 2    No

Object type 6    Yes    Grp 2    Yes

Note: Group 1 (Grp 1) is not active, group 2 (Grp 2) is active.

The active setting for the object link type itself can be overridden by the setting in the assigned group. For example, an active object link type that has a group with the property not active assigned to it cannot be used when new object links are created.

Not active applies only to new object links. When the property of the group changes from active to not active, existing, active object links remain active until they are deleted.
