This field contains the pension insurance number (PI number) of the employee. The PI number has the format bbttmmjjassp, where

• bb represents the area number of the insurance institution
• ttmmjj represents the date of birth
• a represents the first letter of the name at birth
• ss represents a sequential number
• p represents a check digit

The German pension insurance body assigns the PI number.
