Definition

Key that controls which costs of a cost estimate are used to update the price.

Use

You use the cost component view in Customizing to define which cost components are included in the price update.

Overhead is calculated based on the data in the itemization. In this case you can enter a cost component view to control how the value of the material item in the itemization is used to apply overhead.

  • With a standard cost estimate the costs defined in Customizing as cost components for inventory valuation are used for the price update.

If you want to calculate variances based on the standard cost estimate, the price update must use the costs that are relevant to valuation. This ensures that actual costs and target costs have the same basis.

  • You can enter a different view for other costing variants.

Procedure

If you do not make an entry, the price update is based on the costs assigned to inventory valuation.
