Definition

An event may be classified as a first or second event.

This distinction is important if the first event prescribes less than the maximum coverage period. A second event may then allow an extension to the maximum period.

Please note:

It is possible that an event known well in advance, such as a reduction in hours, may be collected during routine processing. A further event may then occur before the collected "first" event has actually occurred. This is then recorded as a "second" event.

The two events are therefore recorded the wrong way around. The system informs you of this data inconsistency.
