Definition
Determines if the unique identifier for an insurance collateral object is generated internally or must be entered by the user.
Use
The value that you choose in this field is used internally in the number ranges function module, for generating and validating identification numbers.
Collateral Management provides three number range assignment types:
Internal - For each insurance type, you must specify a number range interval. The system assigns a unique ID from this number range interval to each insurance collateral object created for the specified insurance type.
External and within a specified range: You specify an insurance ID and the system validates if the ID exists in the number range interval, specified for the insurance type of the insurance.
External Free text/number entry: You can specify a number or a free text of your choice as an identifier. No validations are performed against entries for this number assignment type.
