In the scenario for guarantees, if the guarantor serves a termination notice to the bank, the outstanding amount for the loans of the guarantee, as on the date of receipt of the termination notice, must be fixed as the amounts of the guarantee. However, the guarantee would still hold for the period of the loan.

Some possible reasons can be:

• Expiry of the validity period.
• Repayment of the receivable.
• Loan waiver by the bank (collateral taker).
