If you select this field, the 'New Total' field is not displayed for the current adjustment type in the 'Change Compensation Adjustment' transaction. (The 'New Total' field contains the total of the compensation bases and compensation adjustments.)

Example
Your enterprise has two adjustment types: salary adjustment and bonus. The calculation base is the present basic salary of the employee. You want to display the total of the present salary and the salary adjustment but not the total of the present salary and the bonus salary.
To achieve this, select the 'Hide New Total' field for the adjustment type 'Bonus'.
Leave the field empty for the adjustment type 'Salary Adjustment'.
