Definition

Identifies a time limit for refunds.

Use

The actual start and end dates of each refund period are defined in the academic calendar or determined by the refund type assigned to the programs and modules.

One of the elements used in calculating the refund amount are the time intervals defined in the academic calendar and their respective refund rules. Students are therefore refunded different amounts depending on which refund period they cancel their booking in.

The refund period is used in fee calculation to calculate the refund a student will receive when (s)he de-registers from a program or cancels a module booking. The system derives the refund period from the de-registration or cancellation date. You can define the refund amount and percentage of each refund according to your specific requirements.

Examples

You can define your refund periods as follows:

  • Refund period 0001:

During official registration period: 100% refund

  • Refund period 0002:

After official registration period until start of classes: 90% refund

  • Refund period 0003:

From the start classes until the eighth day of classes: 80% refund

  • Refund period 0004:

From the ninth day of classes onward: 0% refund
