Definition

Classifies a grant.

Use

You assign a grant type to every grant you create in grant master data.

The grant type is one of the elements which determine the contract object type for the sponsor. If the grant type is assigned a standard contract object type, the system posts the respective grant to the sponsor's contract account with a contract object of this contract object type.

The grant type is one of several attributes which the system uses when it posts a grant to derive

The system also uses the grant type to determine the clearing account for the posting.
