Definition

The entry in this field corresponds to the number of days that constitute the so-called 'grace period' for the employer with regard to continued pay for employees who are off sick.

For example, the statutary rulings on continued pay guarantee payment of 90% of the gross wage of an employee who is sick. Payment is made for a period of 30 days, commencing after a grace period of 10 days has elapsed. In this case, the value entered in this field is 10, because the employee is not eligible for any supplementary benefit during the first 10 days of absence due to sickness.
