Definition

The amount for special contributions to the social insurance is related to the gross income of the employee and the fact that there are one or two incomes in his/her family.

Before 1996 the contribution was a fixed amount, depending on the income range. From 1996 on, the contribution is calculated from a fixed base and a percentage to add. There is also a maximum contribution determined for each income range. Therefore, two amounts have to be specified: the base amount and the maximum contribution.

Before 1996 these two amounts were equal.
