Definition
Internal, technical key of a business object in the Business Object Repository (BOR).
Business objects are identified in the BOR using both an object type (such as BUS2032) and a descriptive name in English (such as SalesOrder). Both of these must be unique for each object type.
Business objects are usually refered to by their descriptive name in external applications, whereas they are identified by their object type internally in the BOR. Originally, only the internal key was used, but due to the increasingly widespread use of business objects, it was necessary to give them a more intuitive name. For compatability, both names are now supported.
An object type can be a maximum of 10 characters long.
Examples:
- BUS2032
- BUS6026
