Documentation
Definition
The technical wage type stores the actual employee salary for a payroll period in payroll.
Use
You need to specify a technical wage type for plans with contributions defined as a percentage of salary, in order to determine the basis for contribution calculation.
You can also use a technical wage type instead of a compensation model to provide the pensionable earnings for retirement plans. In this case you also need to specify a compensation wage type to which values are transferred from the technical wage type.
You define the cumulation of values in your technical wage type by assigning a cumulation class to the relevant wage types in the view V_512W_D Processing Classes, Cumulations, and Evaluation Classes.
Note
This wage type does not determine salary for the following purposes:
- Calculation of salary-based contributions using an estimated salary (for example, in the cost/contribution overviews in benefits processing)
- Calculation of salary-based credit or coverage
- Allocation of employees to salary groups
In these cases, the benefit salary wage type is used.
