Documentation
Definition
A dependent/beneficiary eligibility variant is a means of grouping the individual entries of a dependent/beneficiary eligibility rule to apply them to a benefit plan.
Use
Dependencies
Example
Supplementary Documentation - BEN_RLPVR 0001
Use
For COBRA-relevant flexible spending accounts, you specify a dependent eligibility variant to determine which types of family members are to be offered continuation of coverage if they qualify for COBRA. If you do not specify an eligibility variant for a COBRA-relevant FSA, only the employee can be a COBRA beneficiary for the plan.
Dependencies
Example
Supplementary Documentation - BEN_RLPVR 0002
Use
Enter the appropriate dependent/eligibility variant for the plan. If you do not assign a variant to a plan, no dependents or beneficiaries are allowed.
Dependencies
You can only assign dependent eligibility variants to plans with dependents and beneficiary eligibility variants to plans with beneficiaries. For plans in the category Miscellaneous, which type of variant you assign therefore depends on how the plan is customized.
