Documentation
Definition
This is the plan which is a prerequisite for an employee to be eligibile for the plan being considered.
Use
Use this field to identify the plan that the employee must also select to be allowed to enroll in the current plan.
Example
In order to participate in "Supplemental Life Insurance" the employee must also enroll in "Basic Life Insurance". Therefore, "Basic Life Insurance" is defined in "Supplemental Life Insurance" as a prerequisite.
Further notes
A prerequisite plan can only be a plan from a different benefit plan type. This is because an employee can only enroll in one plan per plan type, excluding the possibility of a prereqisite enrollment from the same plan type.
