Indicates that the reference period for employee contributions is the employee's pay period.

Example 1

The employee contribution rule states that the employee may contribute up to 10 units weekly.

The employee is paid bi-weekly, so on the enrollment form the employee chooses to contribute the maximum of 20 units bi-weekly.

Example 2

The employee contribution rule variant states that the employee may contribute up to 10% of net income every month.

The employee first chooses to contribute 7% every month.

After 6 months the employee decides to raise the contribution to the maximum of 10% per month.
