Definition

Describes the amount allocated to an investment before the contribution is shared out according to the entries in the benefits investment percentage field.

Example

The employee has decided to allocate an investment amount of 20 USD to Investment Fund 1 and no amount to Company Share Investment. The investment percentages entered are 60% to Investment Fund 1 and 40% to Company Share Investment.

Let us say that the total contribution in payroll adds up to 100 USD. The employee has already allocated 20 USD to Investment Fund 1, so now the system distributes the remaining 80 USD according to the percentages. As a result, 68 USD (20 + 60% * 80) is allocated to Investment Fund 1 and 32 USD (40% * 80) is allocated to Company Share Investment in total.
