Definition
This indicates how the employee's cost is calculated.
Possible choices are a flat amount or a factor of coverage.
The flat amount is a flat cost for a fixed coverage. The cost factor is a cost per base unit of coverage.
Example
The Standard Insurance plan offers 1 x salary as coverage.
The cost factor is $0.20
The base unit is $1,000.
The system therefore calculates how many $1,000 units there are in an employee's salary, and multiplies this with the cost factor.
