Definition

This is the adjusted change in participation, expressed as a percentage.

This is calculated by deducting the change in eligible employees from the change in participation.

Example

In January, 50 employees are eligible for the Standard Health Plan, and 10 employees actually participate in the plan.

In July of the same year, 60 employees are eligible for the plan, and 20 employees participate in the plan.

The increase in eligible employees is:
[(60 - 50) / 50] x 100% = 20%

The increase in participating employees is:
[(20 - 10) / 10] x 100% = 100%

The adjusted increase is 100% - 20% = 80%
