Definition
Cumulation wage type for employee benefit salary.
Use
Benefit salary is required in order to do the following:
- Dynamically allocate employees to salary groups on enrollment (if salary groups are used to differentiate costs, contributions, coverage, or credit, depending on employee salary).
- Calculate the following amounts, if defined as relative to salary:
- Actual coverage of an insurance plan
- Actual credit for a credit or miscellaneous plan
- Evidence of insurability conditions for an insurance plan
- Combined coverage/contribution limits for an insurance/savings plan
- Calculate salary-based contributions using an estimated salary (for example, in cost/contribution overviews in benefits processing)
The wage types cumulated in the benefit salary wage type must be assigned to the indirect valuation module that is attributed to this wage type. You can find out which module is attributed to the benefit salary wage type in the Implementation Guide for Personnel Administration, in the step Payroll Data -> Basic Pay -> Wage Type -> Check Wage Type Catalog -> Check Wage Type Characteristics.
You assign wage types to the module in the 'Base Wage Type Valuation' view (V_T539J). Note that you can only assign wage types from the infotypes 0008 (Basic Pay), 0014 (Recurring Payments/Deductions), and 0015 (Additional Payments).
Note
This wage type does not provide the salary used to calculate contribution as a percentage of salary in payroll. In this case the technical wage type is used.
Example
Supplementary Documentation - BEN_BSWTYP0001
Use
When you set the parameter group and select salary as one parameter affecting the additional point rule variant, you define the calculation base wage type to further differentiate the salary group.
Dependencies
Example
For example, you assign the wage type Annual salary(ASAL) as the wage type for calculation base. Salary grouping A indicates employees with annual salary over 100,000USD. Salary grouping B indicates employees with annual salary below 100,000USD. Consequently, employees of these two salary groups get different number of additional points.
Supplementary Documentation - BEN_BSWTYP0002
Use
When you set the parameter group and select salary as one parameter affecting the benefit request type limit rule, you define the calculation base wage type to further differentiate the salary group.
Dependencies
Example
Employees belong to different salary groups may have different limits for request type:
Maximum number of request
Maximum number of points that can be deducted
Maximum amount that can be reimbursed
