Definition
Specifies the unique identifier of an asset for the asset type it belongs.
Dependencies
Asset identification key is determined based on settings made in the Implementation Guide (IMG) activity Define Asset Types. In this activity, each asset type is assigned to a number assignment type. Possible number assignment types are:
- Internal: Asset ID is generated internally from number range interval maintained for the asset type.
- External and within a Specified Range: You can specify a number of your choice. This number is validated against the number range interval maintained for the asset type.
- External Number or Free Text Entry: You can specify an asset identifier based on number or text of your choice.
