Definition

The flow type classifies a flow in the cash flow. A flow changes an accounting item (position item, expense or income, and so on).

You can only use a flow type in connection with a financial transaction if you have assigned the flow typy to the corresponding product type in Customizing.

Information specific to IS-B:

The flow type helps you recognize whether a cash flow is the result of an interest rate movement or not. This has an influence on the Risk Management component. The flow type plays no part in Single Transaction Costing at this stage.

If the flow type is not available, the cash flow is filled with the values for the interest terms contribution (for the interval between the payment dates) and the effective capital within costing.

Maintenance

  • If you transfer the cash flow as part of a data transfer, you must also transfer this indicator.
  • If you let IS-B calculate the cash flow, the indicator is automatically filled.
  • If you enter the cash flow manually using the relevant maintenance transaction in the application menu, you must fill out the indicator.
