Definition
General valuation classes are used to classify transactions by asset type, and apply accross all valuation areas. By contrast, special valuation classes are defined at valuation area level. The general valuation classes are assigned to the special valuation classes for the valuation areas. For each transaction, the system can therefore determine the special valuation classes for the different valuation areas on the basis of the general valuation class.
You assign the general valuation class to a position when you enter the financial transaction.
