Documentation
Definition
The recovery rate is the proportion of an outstanding receivable that can be expected to be recovered in the case of default by the counter party or issuer.
Example
The bankruptcy ratio is defined in the procedure is 20%. You are owed EUR 100,000 but receive only EUR 20,000 of that. If you set the recovery rate in the system at 20%, the exposure is limited to 80% (1 minus the recovery rate), which in this case is EUR 80,000.
