Definition

A bank transaction is usually created when a contract is concluded.

Use

The internal transaction number groups together all information belonging to a bank transaction. The bank transaction comprises:

  • a bank transaction master record
  • one or more bank transaction period values
  • one or more financial conditions
  • one or more flow records. These can be either:
    • a cash flow or
    • a position flow in own-account trading (order, transfer posting)

The transaction number can relate to one transaction or several summarized transactions.

You can assign a business partner account several transactions, e.g. current account loan, sight credit, non-utilized credit line.

Dependencies

The transaction number is used to identify a bank transaction. Normally the external transaction number from the operational system is used. If the internal and external transaction numbers are the same and you have chosen "external number assignment" for the bank transaction, the internal transaction number is a required field.
