Definition
The comparative effective rate is calculated by the same method as that for the actual effective interest rate of a loan but:
- the capital balance is not taken into consideration, and possibly
- condition types other than those used for the normal effective interest rate, are considered.
The comparative effective interest rate is significant mainly for the rollover of annuity loans since it allows you to compare an offer for a current loan with the offer without taking the capital balance into consideration, as for instance, another institution would do.
