Definition
This number is used to help the system recognize an external transaction as an external generic transaction.
For such transactions the generic transaction merely serves as a point of reference for management purposes: all original transaction data is outside the SAP environment. This implies that the transaction must also be priced externally.
By means of the generic transaction, you can assign this transaction to a base portfolio, which enables you to include it in the various evaluations.
For the valuations to function correctly, you need to make sure that either the generic transaction or the its financial object is assigned a valuation rule in which the necessary settings for calling up an external price calculator are maintained (RFC destination and so on).
